  • Camtasia (excellent editor and a top choice for educators)
  • *ScreenFlow (Mac only I'm afraid... but this is what I use for screen recording)
  • Final Cut Pro X (Mac, serious editor for serious projects)
  • Adobe Premiere Pro (Mac or PC, incredible video editing power)
  • Adobe Premier Rush (simple and stunning)
  • Audacity (free audio editing)
  • *Epidemic Sound (for all the royalty-free music and sound effects you would ever need)

Mobile Video Production

  • For screen capture, I use Explain Everything
  • Filmic Pro is the best app for video on your mobile devices
  • Adobe Spark makes quick videos easy
  • Adobe Premier Rush is astoundingly powerful (web and mobile)

Effective Contact / Engagement

  • Padlet (I'm a Padlet addict and use it for face-to-face as well as online classes EVERY DAY.)
  • Google Slides, Docs and Sheets for student collaborative work.  If you've never used cloud-based apps for student collaborations, check out this article
  • Notability for drawing in class, during office hours and for my own notes for meetings, etc.
  • Outliner Pro for easy outlines / mindmaps
  • Blrt allows you to talk, point and draw over just about anything
  • BaiBoard HD is a virtual whiteboard
  • Classroomscreen is a great F2F or online virtual whiteboard with some great features
  • VoiceThread is an amazing communication option in an online environment
  • Stage
  • Check out Doceri as well for presentations
  • I use Air Camera if I don't have an Apple TV for live streaming from my iPhone or iPad camera to the screen
  • Socrative is great for engagement and on-the-fly assessments
  • Quizlet is my choice for live or asynchronous quizzes or student practice
  • Kahoot!  (games)

  • Castro is the best podcast app I've found

Organize Your Digital Life

  • Notion has got to be the BEST relational database EVER.  I use the P.A.R.A. system to organize my digital life and everything I need is in Notion.  Plus it's FREE.
  • Evernote is my digital file cabinet and I've been a user since 2009.  I do have the Premium version so I can download notebooks for offline use (I travel a lot).
  • Drafts is what I use for on-the-go note-taking.
  • Rocketbook is an amazing physical-to-digital experience.  I am addicted.
